Gecko Galz

Hi, today is my day to be featured on the Gecko Galz blog. I want to share with you how I made the projects showcased there. Also, there is a free GG digi stamp at the bottom of this post.

Here is a Steampunk collage I made, using the free Gecko Galz digi stamp. The background paper is also Gecko Galz. It's called Well Oiled Machine. The balloons were stamped and then colored with chalks.

First up is a tag I made. Size tag (High tea icon #22) in Photoshop, fussy cut, ink edges with brown chalk ink. Size lady from La Vie sheet, fussy cut, ink edges. Adhere to tag, with fancy transparencies behind her. Attach metal hand in upper right corner.

Next is a patriotic card. Size image from Stars & Stripes #1 to 2.75" x 4.5" and cut out. Print word "Freedom" from Stars & Stripes #2 (actual size) and trim. Size Bingo card from Yankee Doodle #1. Add red doily and patriotic banner. Adhere items to blue paper with stars on a red card base.

Finally, another tag. Size tag (high tea icon #2) in Photoshop and fussy cut. Ink edges with brown chalk ink and punch hole at top. Size lady image and fussy cut. Add metal gems to 4 edges of image. Attach to tag on top of brown doily. Die cut word dream from Brussels paper. Attach to bottom left of tag. Add postal rub-on to top right of tag. Tie dark blue ribbon into a bow.

Here is your free digital image from Gecko Galz. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday

Two posts in one day!! It's a Happy Birthday theme at Ooh La La Creations and I want to share the card I made.

I used the beautiful image from the Yesterday's Memories collection. The Happy Birthday tag is from the Shawn Jenkins collection. The background paper is also from Yesterday's Memories. I began with an ivory card base and backed the image onto ivory cardstock. I added two light pink doilies and a butterfly sticker to finish the card.

I love how feminine this card looks! Check out the rest of the design team's wonderful birthday cards at Ooh La La!

Make My Monday - The Beach and a DT call

It's Monday and time for a new challenge at Make My Monday. I chose this week's theme - "The Beach". Here's my card.

I began with a black card base, layering on a piece of "Lakeside" paper by Pebbles. Next I added some Gecko Galz paper and image. Then I stamped the anchor stamp (by Stampin' Up) with Faded Jeans distress ink. Finally I added some cheesecloth to look like a fish net, along with sequins (by Lawn Fawn) and the Beach Party embellishment.

Also, I'd like to tell you that we are having a DT call at Make My Monday. We are looking to add 4 new team members. If you'd like to try out, make a beach themed project, link it up and put DT after your name. It's a great team to be on!

Dinosaurs

Hello! Today I'd like to share a dinosaur card with you.

The challenge this week at Make My Monday is embossing. I decided to combine embossing and dinosaurs to make a birthday card for my nephew.

I began my card with a brown card base. I added a layer of green paper. Next I embossed a piece of white cardstock. I inked the embossing folder with brown ink (on one side) before running it through the die cutting machine. This piece was layered onto the card and the dinosaur stickers were added last.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. We'd love to see your embossed projects - please link them up at Make My Monday.

Ooh La La Creations

In September of 2014, I was a guest designer for Ooh La La Creations. I'm excited to say that they have asked me to join the team!

It will be a pleasure to work with the products available from Ooh La La. The CD's they sell contain images, papers and other items relating to a theme or artist. For example, my card for this week is from the CD, Passion for Fashion. This is what you get on the CD:

37 Design folders all containing background papers, inserts, toppers and pyramid decoupage

Plus quick cards toppers, waterfall, tags and embellishments, bonus papers, bonus inserts and bonus toppers,
Over 600 Sheets to print

A lot of great stuff, right?! Here is my first card.

There will be a challenge every two weeks. This time it's "Here Comes Summer." For my card, I used the image called Seaside Scene and mounted it onto paper from the same CD. I punched a banner from another paper and pop dotted it to the card. Finally, I stamped three shells and layered them to the card. I used a 5"x7" black card base.

I also want to share my card for Make My Monday. This week the theme is "Shabby Chic". I used items from my stash: the image, butterfly, rose card, pink doily and papers to create the card. It's put together on an ivory card base.

I hope you will join the challenges at both Ooh La La and Make My Monday. Thanks for stopping by!

Make My Monday

We hope you will join us at Make My Monday this week. Use the photo below as your inspiration.

There are several different ways to interpret this picture - the colors, balloons or the sea. I chose to go with the sea idea.

I began with some Tim Holtz inks and three older SU seashell stamps. After stamping the shells, I fussy cut them. They were applied to a sentiment that I stamped and then die cut. I put a piece of cheesecloth underneath for the feeling of a net. A piece of blue paper and a blue card base from my stash and the card was complete.

Thanks for stopping by - have a great week!!
