"Inspire Your Heart with Art Day"

Hi, Unruly Paper Arts is having a link party where we are sharing art that we've created from the heart. Link up one of your creative projects here.

HOW TO JOIN THE PARTY

1. Link up any of your own creative projects (papercraft or mixed media) that inspire your heart, ie. uses products and colors you love and styles and imagery that makes your heart swoon, or that were simply created from the heart. This means no Design Team or other Challenge Criteria should be used to make this project. It is simply what you love to make with no restrictions or limitations as to what you do or use. You can share your project throughout the event period (31st Jan to 2nd Feb) using our Party Link Up. The Party Link Up will be listed here below and open from 12.00am 31st of January.

2. You must be a follower of Unruly Paper Arts.

3. Leave a little love for others, by commenting on at least the blogs of the person listed in the link up before you and the two people behind you.

4. Display our Party Badge (shown above) on your blog and link back to this post when you post your creation to your blog, galleries etc.

Here is the piece that I made.

I love to fill printer trays, divided boxes and little shadowboxes. So I used a box from Hobby Lobby, painted the outside with Martha Stewart green olive acrylic paint and then brushed Golden paint over the green. (I used Quinacridone/Nickel Azo Gold.)

I then began gathering lots of stuff from my stash and my sister's stash. I decided to cover the back of each section with patterned paper. Next came the fun part - adding in all the bits and bobs to fill each space.

Here are a few close ups of some sections.

I hope you will join us at the "Inspire Your Heart with Art Day" linky party!

Bright and Cheery...

Join us this week at Make My Monday as we try to chase away the dreary winter days with our Bright and Cheery theme!

I dug into my Gelli prints and used one as the background for this card. I mounted it onto a white cardstock base and then added a piece of lacy trim. I used stamps from an older Stampin' Up set and Tim Holtz inks to make the shells. The starfish was stamped in Peacock Feathers, the spiral shell in Salty Ocean and the scallop shell with Festive Berries. The word Hello is from a sticker sheet by We R Memory Keepers.

Next I'd like to share a layout I did for Moxxie. I used the new Winery line for this page.

I love the rich colors and all the fun stickers!

Global Traveler

Moxxie's 2015 Winter Release Hop - check it out here for details on how to win one of the fabulous new lines!!

Today my Global Traveler journal page is up on the Unruly Paper Arts blog. I made the page for the January Reader's Art Quest. There are also great projects by some of the other UPA design team members.

I made this page in my large Dylusions journal. First I used Pan Pastels to create the background. If you've never used Pan Pastels before, let me say that they are amazing! The colors are gorgeous, they blend easily and there is no mess. I used four shades on the background and then I also used a blue to color the hot air balloons.

The balloons and the globe were fussy cut from papers by Splash of Color. The car was cut from a Tim Holtz die. I stamped the men onto white cardstock with a stamp called One Man Show by Stampington & Co. All the pieces were layered over the Pan Pastel background. Lastly, I added the foam word stickers (by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts).

I love how this page turned out! To learn more about Pan Pastels and see all the fun colors available check out their website here.

Hi, it's Joan and I'm so glad you stopped by my blog today! I'd like to share a layout I made using the new Moxxie Springtime line. I love the beautiful papers and bright colors of this line!!

Our dog, Chiquita, loves to smell flowers when she is outside walking. The photo I used on this Springtime page shows her smelling the lilacs in our backyard.

I began my page with the Dandelion Wishes paper. I then cut photo mats from Songbird and Take Flight. I used the pennant stickers from the Springtime sticker sheet, pop dotted them and added twine to make the banner across the top of the page. The saying at the bottom was one long piece from the Springtime Cutouts sheet - I cut each word out and inked the edges.

Here is a look at the papers and stickers in the Springtime line - they are all so pretty!

winter FUN layout

Up on the Moxxie blog today is this layout I made. It's called "winter FUN" and features my great-nephew Milo. I just love the colors of the Moxxie papers on this page! I used the new Winterland line and papers from Hit the Slopes for the banners.

For January, Moxxie is having a sketch challenge! The sketch, made by Moxxie Muse Samantha Taylor, is what I based this winter FUN page on. Use the sketch to create a project, link it up on the Moxxie blog and you will be entered to win of the fabulous new lines from Moxxie!!

There are sneak peeks for the 7 new lines on the blog. Believe me, they are all wonderful!
