Gecko Galz ornament

I love the vintage Christmas images offered by Gecko Galz Scrapbooking each year. The old time Santas are some of my favorites! I used one from this year's collection to make an ornament. In addition to the GG image, I also used Lifestyle Crafts dies and items from my stash.

Viva Las VegaStamps! DT Tryout

Wow - there is a dt call for Viva Las VegaStamps! which immediately caught my attention, since I love stamping!! I would be thrilled to be on this team and so I am posting three of my stamped projects here.

First is a 7 Gypsies printer tray filled with stamped tags. Each tag has been masked, a technique which I enjoy.

Next a Christmas card, featuring a stamped snowflake background with an angel overstamped on top.

Finally, two ATC's which are steampunk in style.

Wish me luck - I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!!

Gecko Galz Blog Hop

Welcome Everyone to the 3rd Annual Gecko Galz Tricks and Treats Blog Hop.

First I have a tag, which uses the following Gecko Galz products: images from Pretty as a Postcard and Darling Dragonflies. They were both fussy cut and edges inked. The tag was painted, stenciled, stamped and edged in gold paint. The word stickers are by Splash of Color (from Hobby Lobby), small white doily from Martha Stewart and rhinestones from my stash.

I also made a card, using papers from the Star Crossed and Wild Roses sets. The flower wreath is from a die cut sheet (12 x 12), which was inked. The individual flowers were cut out and layered into a free form wreath shape. More flowers were added beneath an image from the Pretty as a Postcard sheet. I also added teal sequins.

Zappy Dots Blog Hop

This is Day 4 of the Polka Dot Pumpkin Blog Hop. Below this post I've linked my fellow DT members' blogs so you can see the great things they have created using Zappy Dots.

My project today is a polka dotted jack-o'-lantern. I got this flat wooden pumpkin at Hobby Lobby and painted it orange. Then I added some punched circles (which I inked & pop dotted). The yellow is cardstock. I inked the pumpkin with brown ink.

Last I added a burlap flower with a fall leaf Zappy Dot in the center. I love how colorful and fun Zappy Dots are!!!

First photo is a close up of the flower. Second is the jack-o'-lantern.

Hop on over to the blogs of my fellow Zappy Dots DT members - here are the links.

Polka Dot Pumpkin Blog Hop

Welcome to the first day of the Zappy Dots blog hop!! I've created two projects to share with you.

My first project is a 7 Gypsies shadowbox with a picture of my nephew Milo dressed as a gnome. The papers and leaves are from my stash. The Zappy Dots flair buttons are from the Vintage Halloween set. Love these!!

My second project is a bird titled, "Time for Fall". The bird is from Michael's. I painted the edges, covered it with Gecko Galz paper and then inked it with brown chalk ink. I deconstructed some Prima flowers (took out the centers and only used half the blue flower). I applied fall leaf Zappy Dots to the centers of the flowers. The clock is also from Gecko Galz. The bird has a small black rhinestone for an eye.

The photo below shows the flowers in more detail.

Zappy Dots & another collage

Today I have two layouts to share. Both layouts use Zappy Dots. The beach layout uses two flair from the Vintage Sailor line.

The chihuahua layout uses two flair buttons from the I Love Chihuahua line. There are also flair buttons for pugs, pitbulls, daschunds, labs & yorkies.

I also made another collage. I stenciled the background, using Tim Holtz distress inks. Then I added stamps, ephemera & a vintage image. The pink leaves are also vintage and are stapled with the tiny attacher. The words are cut from Tim Holtz tickets.

Creating... Collages!

I love making collages! I can use inks, stencils and stamps and just have fun! Then there are the pretty papers, fun embellishments and images - I never get tired of creating collages!!!

I'm posting three collages today, titled "Birds of a Feather", "Remember" & "Dream". The first two use vintage cabinet card images.

"Dream" is a photo of me as a child. I love those paper lantern stickers (been in my stash forever!) and how they contrast with the soft sprayed background. Making collages is a great way to use up your stash!

Lovin' Zappy Dots!!

I made this card (my first project) for the Zappy Dots design team. The card is 5.5" x 5.5". I layered it up with patterned paper, die cut scallop, large & small doily, Prima flowers & blue buttons. The blue transparency piece is from LYB; the hello flag from Jillibean.

And the flair button? A Zappy Dot, of course!! It's from the set called Vintage Sailor. I love the Zappy Dots flair buttons!!

Halloween

I know it's early, but when you get such wonderful images like these to work with, I had to create right away! I'm loving all the vintage Halloween images from Gecko Galz this month.

I made 3 tags and a journal page. There are also harvest images and I'm thinking I will make some Thanksgiving cards with those!

Journal page

I made this page last week, using Dylusions ink sprays in the Dylusions journal. The large pear is from an old scrapbook found at my mother's house. I purchased the Alice in Wonderland images a few years ago.

The page also has stamping and stenciling. Fun stuff!

August!

August - time for a new month of Project Life! It's also beginning to feel a little bit like fall. The nights are getting cooler and I can hear the cicadas during the day. We even have a few red leaves on a tree in the backyard!!

This photo is of our little chihuahua, Chiquita. She will be my first PL photo of August.

I love this new way of scrapbooking! I still like making "regular" layouts, but PL is so much fun! Plus, I can use my stash to add little bits and bobs to my cards.

Project Life!!!

Oh, I am soooo excited - today I got my Project Life kit (Cinnamon) from Hobby Lobby!!!! Used my 40% off coupon, which was great for the core kit. But then I worried that maybe the album would be gone before I got back down there with another coupon, so I bought it - at full price. Then I needed the page protectors, so got those too. And my total bill was a bit high, but so worth it!!

Project Life begins July 1 - I can't wait!!

July 4th!

One of my very favorite holidays is the 4th of July - I love the colors, the fireworks, the fun!!

Gecko Galz has great patriotic images and so I sized the lady with the flag in Photoshop, cut her out and layered her over stamping and stenciling. Isn't she pretty - she's from the Red, White & Blue ephemera sheet #1. The large star is also from Gecko Galz. I printed it out full size and then cut it out. The star is from paper called Bursting in Air.

I also used some washi tape, part of a white doily and the #4 from Tim Holtz.

This will not be true mail art because I'm not sending it to anyone - I like it too much and am keeping it for myself!

Father's Day

I love this Gecko Galz image! I used burlap for the background to add texture, but I had to add the gold doily because this man looks so elegant.

Only 2 more weeks and my daughter will be married!! I will have time to create again! I am ready to get back into my art room!!

Gecko Galz projects

I want to share some Gecko Galz projects I've made over the last few months. What fun I've had creating these and using the fabulous Gecko collage sheets!!!

First up is a tag made with an April image. I loved the high fashion look of the lady!

Next up is a card using the same lady.

Five ATC's I made with April's monochrome images.

For the design team Spring challenge, I made this tray using Gecko Galz bird images.

February Card

Gecko products: paper “From Her Balcony” (Star Crossed papers), Hearts Galore set #1 – Love bingo card, Bits and Pieces set #1 Ticket & Rose Bingo card

Gems, lace, ribbon & rub on words from my stash.

Directions: I used a white cardstock card base, sized 5 x 7. I printed out the background paper, cut it 4 ¾ by 6 ¾ , making sure to use the textured doily part of the paper at the top left of my card.

Next, I sized the ticket, Love Bingo card (4” x 5 ¾”)and Bingo card with rose (3 1/2 “ x 4 ¼”) in Photoshop, cut them out, inked the edges and layered on top of the background paper. The ticket is pop dotted.

I added a piece of lace & 4 pearls across the top of the rose Bingo card.

I tied pink ribbon around the card and added a gemstone. Finally, I added the rub on words.
